Toronto Newsgirls Boxing Club: Wish List

HELP SUPPORT OUR INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS

Three Newsgirls, Savoy "Kapow!" Howe, Kira "Loco" Lococo and Jackie "Super Nova" Scott recently won Gold at the 2010 Provincials in Windsor. Jen "Scrapper" Plyler-Danch and Peggy "Shadow Blow" Brenya both scored Bronze medals. Team Newsgirls will be fighting at the Nationals in Quebec at the end of January. As the number one goal for the Newsgirls is to participate in the first Olympics for women's boxing in 2012, Team Newsgirls is well on her way to being a part of this herstorical event.

The Toronto Newsgirls are also expanding current classes to include a Shape Your Life program in Indonesia, kettlebell and weight lifting classes, and coaching and mentoring courses. The Newsgirls Club has been proudly serving the lgbtq communities since 1996 and wants to grow to involve many more communities, reach out to at-risk youth, and build partnerships with the international women's boxing community.
